We actively seek a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager resident. This role can be based in our Pleasanton, California or Chicago, Illinois offices or remote in the US.

Position Summary

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will partner with senior leadership in the Sales & Marketing area to deliver financial models, analysis and metrics to help drive good business decisions. This position will report to the Sr. FP&A Manager, and is a role that will have exposure, visibility, and impact throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning & Forecasting Support the Sr. FP&A Manager in managing the Sales & Marketing function, including forecasting, budgeting and analysis of sales and renewals;
  • Assist with the rolling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasting and planning processes and requirements and manage planning process across all regions, products and departments driving appropriate collaboration, co-ordination, and reporting across the company’s matrix structure;
  • Plan vs. Actual, Operational Reporting – Prepare, compile, analyze and communicate information for financial reporting and analysis including monthly results package for company operating reviews;
  • Partner with Sales Operations to help improve performance across the business by identifying and assessing areas where the company can drive productivity and efficiency;
  • Metrics & KPI Development/Analysis – Analyze detailed financial information along with current and past trends in key performance indicators to provide accurate and timely financial and operational recommendations for decision making purposes;
  • Strategic Opportunity Investigation/Risk Analysis – Collaborate with Management on operational prioritization by performing appropriate financial analysis
  • Manage and/or execute ad-hoc analytic requests – Support preparation of presentations for Senior Management

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Location

  • USA – Pleasanton, Chicago, or other remote locations

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related analytical field
  • MBA highly desirable

Experience

  • 5-8 years of related experience in FP&A and/or Accounting organizations, preferably including work with, or knowledge of, the economics of software, internet, or IT services industries
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning (or similar planning/analysis software) highly desired
  • Experience with and knowledge of accounting and financial statement construction
  • Experience with external benchmarking and competitive intelligence gathering
  • Experience with financial and CRM systems – Microsoft AX, Salesforce, Qlikview / QlikSense, or other BI / Risk Analysis tools

Skills

  • Strong economics and business sense, with an eye to detail in operational and financial analysis and reporting
  • Financial modeling and scenario analysis skills, with an expert understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Problem solving and analytical skills, and understanding key financial and operating drivers of the business
  • Must demonstrate high energy, initiative and creativity
  • Confidence to challenge the status-quo and propose thoughtful alternatives
  • Must exhibit the highest standards of accuracy, precision, and organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and high level of comfort presenting analysis and information to senior management
  • Data mining skills or knowledge to help drive growth of FP&A organization into areas of broader company analysis
  • Willingness to seek and accept new challenges, and have a high level of curiosity and creativity as it relates to new projects, and finding solutions to problems
  • Ability to develop productive collegial relationships while maintaining objective independence and standards of a Finance professional
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment, able to prioritize and multi-task, and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Must have an ability to manage and support initiatives across the organization
  • High performer with track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • Ability to work with business partners in budgeting, prioritization and planning discussions/decisions, and provide the right information to allow those decisions to be made
