Payroll Tax and Projects Specialist

Chemours is seeking a Payroll Tax and Projects Specialist to join our growing Payroll team! This position will report directly to the Payroll Manager II.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Track and monitor all payroll tax deposits and payments. Returns are prepared by OSV to ensure compliance.
  • Research any outstanding payroll tax issues and work with OSV for timely resolution of tax notices received.
  • Reconcile and research differences for quarterly and annual filings including Form W-2’s.
  • Manage the set-up and closure of all tax accounts with state and local jurisdictions as needed.
  • Working with payroll team to complete payroll process for tax related steps each week.
  • Ensure taxes related to employee relocation and stock transactions are set up properly.
  • Ensure payroll tax processes are fully documented and such documentation is easy to follow.
  • Act as back up to others on the payroll team for key responsibilities.
  • Remain current of legislation and regulatory rules that impact payroll tax.
  • Ensure that all payroll tax SOX controls are closely followed.
  • Assist with any payroll related projects and year-end activities as requested.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • 3 + years of payroll tax experience in a multi-state environment for a publicly traded company.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX Controls as it pertains to Payroll Tax.
  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar
  • Advanced Excel experience (pivot tables and lookups)
  • Familiarity with an outside vendor payroll process
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to Multitask in a Dynamic Environment in a massively growing industry.
  • Good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Aptitude and Desire for Continuous Learning.
  • Ability to Meet Deadlines and meet customer expectations.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or similar
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to interface and establish rapport with all levels of the organization including executive team members
  • A proactive, high energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement
  • Flexibility and adaptability: ability to operate in a fast paced, rapidly evolving, and data driven organization
  • Ability to work with all members of the Project Team (includes direct employees, consultants and implementation partner team members) to ensure alignment and coordination.
